Wbcom plugins
Wbcom plugins
Section titled “Wbcom plugins”Wbcom Essential is part of Reign itself and adds blocks and Elementor widgets for building pages; see Wbcom Essential.
Wbcom also builds a set of plugins that each add one capability to your site. They all run inside Reign’s header, footer, colours and light and dark mode, and you install them from Reign Settings > Extend. Pick the ones you need with choose your plugins.
To wire any of them into your menus, header and sidebars, follow the five steps in how your site fits together.
Every plugin below is free, and the free editions are enough to run a complete site; see what you can build with the free plugins. Each also has a Pro upgrade for advanced features. Each has its own website, full documentation and a live demo you can try before you install anything.
Everything on this page was checked on a Reign site running all nine plugins at once, in light and dark mode, on desktop and at phone width.
Install, activate, check
Section titled “Install, activate, check”Go to Reign Settings > Extend. Each plugin shows one of three states:
| State | What to do |
|---|---|
| Not installed | Select Install free |
| Installed, activate | Select Activate |
| Connected | Nothing. It is running |
Installs need an administrator account that can install plugins. They do not need a Reign licence. Install one plugin at a time and wait for Connected before starting the next. If a card says Install failed, select Install free again; a second attempt usually works.
After an install, the next admin page you open may be that plugin’s setup wizard. That is expected. Finish it, or skip it and come back later.
Demo content comes from each plugin
Section titled “Demo content comes from each plugin”Reign does not import demo content itself. Each plugin sets up its own sample content, shaped for what that plugin does:
| Plugin | Where to load demo content |
|---|---|
| BuddyNext | Last step of the setup wizard: Add sample content (12 members, 14 spaces, 22 posts) |
| Jetonomy | Jetonomy Setup: Create sample data instead (6 spaces and about 12 posts) |
| Learnomy | Learnomy > Learnomy Setup, Demo step: Load demo academy |
| Eventonomy | Eventonomy > Setup & Health: Set up with sample data |
| WP Career Board | Setup wizard, step 6 Sample Data: ticked by default, applied on Finish Setup |
| Listora | Setup wizard, Want some sample listings?: pick a pack, for example General Directory |
| WP Sell Services | Setup wizard, last screen Your Marketplace is Ready!: Import Demo Content |
| MediaVerse, WB Gamification | No sample content. Add a few items yourself |
Load the community plugin’s demo first, then the others, so their sample content has members to belong to. To remove BuddyNext’s sample content later, go to BuddyNext > Platform > Tools, find Demo Data and select Remove Demo Data.
Things every plugin shares on Reign
Section titled “Things every plugin shares on Reign”- Look. Every plugin’s pages follow your Reign colours and switch with light and dark mode, and fit phone screens without sideways scrolling.
- Header. Only BuddyNext adds to Reign’s header (messages, notifications and the profile dropdown). The other plugins do not add header icons.
- Login links. When BuddyNext is active, the plugins’ “Log in” and “Register” links open BuddyNext’s login screens and bring the visitor back to the page they were on.
- Blocks and widgets. Every plugin adds blocks you can place in Reign’s sidebars and footer. Add them under Appearance > Widgets: the Customizer’s widget screens show classic widget forms, where blocks are not offered. Jetonomy, Learnomy and BuddyNext also add classic widgets.
- Search. See how these appear in site search.
The plugins
Section titled “The plugins”BuddyNext
Section titled “BuddyNext”The community platform: activity feed, spaces, member profiles and directory, direct messaging, notifications and moderation.
What Reign adds: the most of any plugin. The header messages icon, notification bell and profile dropdown, login, register and reset links that open BuddyNext’s screens, and the header search icon opens BuddyNext’s community search. Full walkthrough: Set up BuddyNext.
Member messaging needs MediaVerse. BuddyNext’s direct messages run on MediaVerse. Without MediaVerse active, the header messages icon, the Messages menu item and the Message buttons on profiles are hidden. To turn messaging on or off, use MediaVerse > Settings > Messages > Turn on private messages.
Using it with Reign:
- Setup: the setup wizard opens on the first admin page after you activate it. Its companion plugins step installs every ticked Wbcom plugin, so untick the ones you do not want.
- Menus: two boxes under Appearance > Menus. BuddyNext Pages has the community pages (Activity, Explore, Members, Spaces, Notifications, Messages, Search, Leaderboard, Discussions, Media). BuddyNext has links for whoever is logged in (My Profile, Edit Profile, My Connections, Messages, Bookmarks, Settings) plus Log In, Register and Log Out items that show the right one to each visitor.
- Page width: set how wide BuddyNext’s community pages are under BuddyNext > Settings > Appearance > Container width: Full width, Theme default (1200px) or Custom.
- On phones BuddyNext adds its own bottom tab bar (Activity, Spaces, Members, Log in) under Reign’s mobile header.
- Blocks and widgets: 19 blocks, plus the classic widgets BuddyNext: Online Members, BuddyNext: Trending Hashtags and BuddyNext: Recent Activity.

Learnomy
Section titled “Learnomy”A learning platform for building, selling and running online courses: quizzes, certificates, instructor payouts, membership plans and a learning community.
Using it with Reign:
- Where it lives: the course catalogue is at
/courses/, full width with Reign’s page banner. Learnomy runs on its own addresses, so it does not create WordPress pages for you to edit. - Run one LMS. If LifterLMS or Sensei LMS is also active, its course archive
can take over
/courses/and the catalogue looks empty. Keep one learning plugin active. See LMS platforms if you use another one. - Menus: the Learnomy Pages box under Appearance > Menus has Course Catalog, My Courses, Certificates, Instructor Dashboard, Register as Student and more. It is hidden at first: open Screen Options at the top of the Menus screen and tick Learnomy Pages.
- Visitors: selecting Enroll on a course while logged out opens Learnomy’s own Student registration page, then returns them to the course.
- Blocks and widgets: 13 blocks, plus the classic widgets Popular Courses, Recent Courses, Course Categories, My Course Progress, Featured Instructor and Course Search.

- Visitors can register for an event on its page with just an email address, no account needed. The event’s own Register button signs them up for that event; Reign’s header Register button creates a site account. If visitors confuse the two, say so in the event description.
- Blocks: 9 blocks.

Using it with Reign:
- Where it lives: the jobs list at
/jobs/and the pages its wizard creates: Find Jobs, Post a Job, Find Companies, Employer Registration, Employer Dashboard and Candidate Dashboard. Reign’s form styling stays out of Career Board’s blocks, so its forms look as the plugin designed them. - Menus: add those pages from the Pages box. Jobs, companies and the job taxonomies have their own boxes.
- Visitors can apply without an account: Apply Now opens a side panel for name, email, résumé and cover letter.
- Registration: the wizard’s Sign-ups step has its own Anyone can register box. It is the same WordPress setting BuddyNext manages, so set it to match your BuddyNext registration mode.
- Blocks: 17 blocks.

WB Gamification
Section titled “WB Gamification”Points, badges, levels and streaks for member actions, with a leaderboard and an analytics dashboard.
Using it with Reign:
- Where it lives: the Gamification page with the top-members leaderboard. Members see their own points once logged in.
- Layout: unlike the other plugins, this page uses your default page layout, so it shows Reign’s sidebar. For a full-width page, edit it and set Reign Custom Settings > Layout > Content Layout to Full Width.
- Menus: add the Gamification page from the Pages box.
- Blocks: 19 blocks. The Reign Community Leaderboard block pattern is a static design section with sample names, not a live leaderboard; use the plugin’s own blocks for real data.
How these appear in site search
Section titled “How these appear in site search”Reign’s search results page adds sections for BuddyNext (members, spaces, posts, hashtags), Jetonomy, Eventonomy, MediaVerse and Learnomy under the normal results. Listings, jobs and services show in the normal results.
Use BuddyNext 1.2.4 or newer. BuddyNext 1.2.3 sent the site’s search box to its own search page, which misses blog posts, pages, products, listings, jobs, services, events and courses.
Other plugins Reign styles
Section titled “Other plugins Reign styles”Beyond the plugins with their own pages in this section, Reign ships styling for these. Install the plugin and the styling turns on by itself, only on the pages that need it:
- Community and forums: BuddyBoss Platform, bbPress, wpForo, Youzify, rtMedia, Better Messages, IdeaPush
- Commerce: SureCart, FluentCart, MultiVendorX, Paid Memberships Pro, ShopLentor
- Events and listings: The Events Calendar, WP Event Manager, Stachethemes Event Calendar, Directorist
- Learning: LearnDash Dashboard
- Product feedback: Product Roadmap
