Every WB Member Blog shortcode is also a block. A block is its shortcode: it runs the same code and has the same attributes with the same defaults, so a block and a shortcode on two pages always show the same thing. Pick whichever fits how you build pages.

  1. Edit a page in the block editor.
  2. Open the block inserter (the + button).
  3. Open the Member Blog category, or search for a block by name, such as “Recent Member Posts”.
  4. Insert the block and set its options in the block settings sidebar.

The editor shows a live preview for every block except Post Submission Form, which shows a labelled placeholder. The form itself renders normally on the published page.

All blocks use the wbcom-member-blog/ prefix.

Attributes, defaults and empty states are in the Shortcodes Reference.

One naming difference: the categories shortcode’s style attribute (cloud, list or grid) is stored on the block as sc_style, because style is reserved by the block editor for colours and spacing. The shortcode is unchanged; write style="list" in a shortcode as before.

WB Member Blog Pro adds a block for each of its shortcodes. Each Pro block appears in the inserter only while its module is switched on.
