Pro. This feature requires WB Member Blog Pro. The free plugin must be installed and active first. See the Pro index for every Pro module.

The Post Analytics module records how often members’ posts are read and where readers came from, and gives each writer a private analytics dashboard. Use it so members can see what their readers respond to, and so you can see which posts perform best across the site. The module is on by default.

Settings live at WB Plugins > Member Blog > Analytics. The tab appears only while the Post Analytics module is on.

  • A writer sees their own numbers. A post’s views and traffic are shown to the post’s author.
  • Site staff who can edit other members’ posts (editors and administrators) can see any member’s analytics.
  • Nobody else. Other members and visitors cannot see a member’s analytics, on the page, through the shortcode or over the REST API.
  • Who can use it narrows this further: only the roles you pick get the dashboard at all. Administrators always have access.

The top of the Analytics tab shows Total Views, Views Today, This Week and This Month for the whole site. Top Performing Posts lists the ten most-viewed posts across all members, with author, views, publish date, and Edit and View links.

A view is recorded when someone other than the author opens a published post. A writer’s own visits to their post are not counted. Traffic sources are sorted into search engines and social sites by name (such as Google, Bing, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Reddit, YouTube), Direct (no referring site), Internal (another page on your site) and Other.

  • Analytics tab on the member home. With the Author Dashboard module on, each writer gets an Analytics tab on their own member home. See Author Dashboard.
  • The analytics shortcode or block, on any page you choose.

For what the dashboard shows and how to read it, see Reading Your Post Analytics.

A visitor who is not logged in sees “Your blog analytics” with a Log in button. A member whose role is not allowed sees “You do not have permission to access analytics.”

Switching the module off hides the tab, the member Analytics tab and the shortcode output, and stops the daily cleanup. Recorded views are kept.
