The Features tab is one list of everything WB Member Blog puts on your site, each with a plain description and an on/off switch. Use it to decide what readers and members see, and to switch something off if it clashes with your theme.
Go to WB Plugins > Member Blog > Features.
The two groups
Section titled “The two groups”On your site’s own pages. These change pages your theme already draws: the author archive, category and tag archives, and the area under every post. None of them turns itself on.
In Member Blog. These appear on the member dashboard and wherever you have placed a Member Blog block or shortcode.
| Feature | Group | What it does | Default on a new site |
|---|---|---|---|
| Writer profiles | Your site’s own pages | Gives each member a profile page at /author/name with their posts, view counts and a Follow button. Replaces your theme’s author archive. |
Off |
| Topic hubs | Your site’s own pages | Turns category and tag pages into a hub: the topic, the members writing about it, and their posts. Replaces your theme’s category and tag archives. | Off |
| Clap and save under the article | Your site’s own pages | Puts the clap and save buttons, and the author box, after the last paragraph of every post. | Off |
| Related posts | Your site’s own pages | Adds a strip of related posts under each article. | Off |
| Follow writers | In Member Blog | Members can follow writers and topics and get a feed of their new posts. Emails a writer’s followers when they publish. | On |

| Clap and save on post lists | In Member Blog | The same two buttons on post cards in lists, grids, profiles and hubs. | On |
| Digest email | In Member Blog | Emails a member a summary of new posts by the writers they follow. | Off |
Each feature has its own page: Writer Profiles and the Author Box, Topic Hubs, Claps and the Reading List, Related Posts, Following and the Digest Email.
Change a feature
Section titled “Change a feature”- Switch the feature on or off.
- Click Save Features.
Turn everything on switches on every feature in the list except Digest email, which emails your members, so you turn that one on yourself. Click Save Features afterwards to keep the change.
Switching a feature off removes its buttons and pages from the site and closes its REST route. Data members created (claps, saved posts, follows) is kept and returns when you switch the feature back on.
Switches that are waiting for another feature
Section titled “Switches that are waiting for another feature”Some features are built on others. When the one they need is off, the switch is disabled and says what it is waiting for:
| Feature | Needs | Message shown |
|---|---|---|
| Clap and save under the article | Claps or Reading list | “Needs Claps or Reading list, which are both switched off.” |
| Clap and save on post lists | Claps or Reading list | “Needs Claps or Reading list, which are both switched off.” |
| Digest email | Follow writers | “Needs Follow writers, which is switched off.” |
| Digest email, without Pro | WB Member Blog Pro, where members opt in | “Member opt-in requires WB Member Blog Pro.” |
Your saved choice for a waiting feature is kept. Switching the needed feature back on restores it as you left it.
New sites, upgraded sites
Section titled “New sites, upgraded sites”| Site | What is on after install or update |
|---|---|
| New install of 4.3.0 | Follow writers, Claps, Reading list, Clap and save on post lists. Everything that changes your own pages, and the digest, starts off. |
| Upgraded from 3.x | Everything starts off, so the update changes nothing on your site. |
| Upgraded from 4.x | Your existing choices are kept. |
The Overview tab shows a Turn on card with one-click buttons for Writer profiles, Topic hubs and Clap and save under the article while they are off.
Pro modules (Pro)
Section titled “Pro modules (Pro)”With WB Member Blog Pro active, its modules are listed on this same screen, below the free features, with their own switches. See the Pro index.
