Modules

Pro. This feature requires WB Member Blog Pro. The free plugin must be installed and active first. See the Pro index for every Pro module.
Everything Pro adds is a module you can switch on or off, so your site runs only the features you use. Pro has no admin menu of its own: its screens are extra tabs under WB Plugins > Member Blog, and each module’s tab appears only while that module is on.
Turn a Module On or Off
Section titled “Turn a Module On or Off”- Go to WB Plugins > Member Blog > Manage Modules.
- Flip the switch on the module’s card.
That is all. Each switch saves as you flip it, and a short message confirms it, such as “Post Series enabled.” There is no Save button, and no second “enable” setting inside the module’s own tab. The switches need JavaScript; with JavaScript off, the screen says so.
When a module is on, its card shows a Configure button that opens its settings tab. The tab also appears in the sidebar the next time the page loads. When a module is off, the card says Enable to configure.
The top of the screen counts Total Modules, Enabled and Disabled.
The Modules
Section titled “The Modules”| Module | What it does | Settings tab | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| Post Restrictions | Posting limits per hour, day, week, month and year, by role or member type, and word limits | Restrictions | On |
| Custom Fields | Extra fields on the post form | Custom Fields | On |
| Author Dashboard | Analytics and Settings tabs on each writer’s member home | Author Dashboard | On |
| Notifications | Review and approval notifications, and every email’s switch and wording | Notifications, Notification Emails | On |
| Post Analytics | Post views, traffic sources and a private analytics dashboard for each writer | Analytics | On |
| Co-Authors | Several writers on one post, with invitations | Co-Authors | Off |
| Group Blogs | Posts linked to BuddyPress or BuddyBoss groups | Group Blogs | Off |
| Post Credits | Credits to publish, with WooCommerce and membership plugins | Post Credits | Off |
| Post Scheduling | Members schedule posts for a future date | Scheduling | Off |
| Post Series | Related posts grouped into a series with navigation | Series | Off |
Two tabs are always present: Manage Modules and License.
The modules that start on are the ones most member blogs use. The ones that start off need a decision: they depend on another plugin, charge members, or change how members work.
Notes on Individual Modules
Section titled “Notes on Individual Modules”- Notifications. Its card notes: “Emails work on every site. The on-site notification bell also needs BuddyPress.”
- Author Dashboard. Its card notes that the Analytics tab needs the Post Analytics module, and that scheduled posts show on the Calendar tab, from the Post Scheduling module.
- Group Blogs needs BuddyPress or BuddyBoss with the Groups component on. Without it, the module stays inactive even when switched on.
What Switching Off Does
Section titled “What Switching Off Does”- The module’s tabs disappear and its features stop, on the front end and in the admin.
- Its blocks are hidden from the block inserter.
- Your settings are kept. Switch it back on and your role limits, credit packs, email wording and so on are still there.
- Member data is kept: credit balances and history, analytics, series, co-author links.
- Background tasks stop: switching Post Analytics off stops its daily history cleanup.
Deleting Pro keeps members’ data unless you tick Also delete all Member Blog data in the Danger zone of WB Plugins > Member Blog > Content first. That one setting covers both plugins. See the Admin Settings Overview.
