Membership Plugin Credits

Pro. This feature requires WB Member Blog Pro. The free plugin must be installed and active first. See the Pro index for every Pro module.
Give members post credits when they join a membership level, and again each time a subscription renews. Use this when you already sell memberships and want each level to include a number of posts.
Supported Plugins
Section titled “Supported Plugins”| Plugin | Credits granted when | Renewal credits when |
|---|---|---|
| Paid Memberships Pro (free) | A member is given a level | A subscription payment completes |
| MemberPress (premium) | A member’s first transaction for a membership completes | A later transaction for the same membership completes |
| WooCommerce Memberships (premium) | A membership is created active, or becomes active | A WooCommerce Subscriptions renewal payment completes |
Each plugin’s map appears on the Post Credits tab once the plugin is active and has at least one level, plan or membership.
No membership plugin yet? The Membership Integration card lists all three. For Paid Memberships Pro it offers Install (or Activate, if it is already on the site but switched off), which uses the WordPress plugin installer in one click. WooCommerce Memberships and MemberPress are commercial, so they offer Learn more instead. Credits also work without any of these: new members get Default Credits, and you can assign credits by hand.
Map Levels to Credits
Section titled “Map Levels to Credits”- Go to WB Plugins > Member Blog > Post Credits.
- Check that Credit Source is Membership Plugins Only or Both (Membership + Manual). With Manual Assignment Only, memberships add no credits.
- In Membership Integration, find your plugin’s table.
- For each level, plan or membership, enter the Credits and choose a Type.
- Click Save Settings.
| Column | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Credits | Credits added for this level. 0 gives none. | 0 |
| Type | Lifetime: credits are added once, when the member joins. Subscription (Monthly): credits are added when the member joins and again on every renewal payment. | Lifetime |
How Grants Behave
Section titled “How Grants Behave”- Credits add up. Every grant is added to the member’s balance. Nothing is reset or taken away at renewal, so unused credits carry forward.
- Cancelling or expiring a membership adds nothing and removes nothing. The member keeps the credits they have.
- Changing level in Paid Memberships Pro grants the new level’s credits on top of the current balance.
- Credit packs and memberships combine. A member with a membership can also buy WooCommerce credit packs; both add to the same balance.
Every grant is written to the member’s credit history with the level name, so you can see where credits came from under Manual Credit Management.
Example
Section titled “Example”| Level | Credits | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 3 | Lifetime |
| Writer (monthly) | 10 | Subscription (Monthly) |
| Pro Writer (monthly) | 40 | Subscription (Monthly) |
A Writer who joins gets 10 credits, and 10 more on each monthly renewal, on top of whatever they have left.
To let a top level post without limit, charge no credits for it rather than granting a large number: a developer can use the bpmb_credits_user_bypassed filter to exempt members of that level. See the Hooks Reference.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”| Problem | Check |
|---|---|
| The plugin’s table does not appear | The membership plugin is active and has at least one level, plan or membership. |
| A member joined but got no credits | Credit Source is not Manual Assignment Only, and that level’s Credits is above 0. |
| No credits on renewal | The level’s Type is Subscription (Monthly). Lifetime levels grant once. |
