Pro. This feature requires WB Member Blog Pro. The free plugin must be installed and active first. See the Pro index for every Pro module.
Give one member a different posting limit, or take them out of every restriction, without changing the limits for their role.
| Option | What it does | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Personal override | Replaces the member’s role or member-type limit for each period you set on their profile | A top contributor who needs a higher allowance, or a member who needs a tighter one |
| Exempt Users | Removes every restriction: posting limits and word limits | Staff writers, moderators, community managers |
Administrators are always exempt. You do not need to add them to the list.
Set a Personal Override
Section titled “Set a Personal Override”- Go to WB Plugins > Member Blog > Restrictions.
- In Global Settings, switch Per-User Overrides on and click Save Settings.
- Go to Users, and click Edit on the member.
- Scroll to Blog Posting Limits (Override).
- Fill in any of Posts Per Hour, Posts Per Day, Posts Per Week, Posts Per Month and Posts Per Year.
- Click Update User.
| Field | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Posts Per Hour | Posts the member may publish this hour | Empty |
| Posts Per Day | Posts the member may publish today | Empty |
| Posts Per Week | Posts the member may publish this week, from Monday | Empty |
| Posts Per Month | Posts the member may publish this month, from the 1st | Empty |
| Posts Per Year | Posts the member may publish this year, from 1 January | Empty |
Things to know:
- An override replaces the member’s limit only for the periods you fill in. A period you leave empty keeps the member’s member-type or role limit. To raise the daily cap and keep the role’s monthly cap, fill in only Posts Per Day.
- Enter 0 in a field for no limit in that period, even if the member’s role has one.
- Emptying every field removes the override, and the member’s role or member-type limits apply again.
- The profile section only shows, and overrides only apply, while Per-User Overrides is on. Switching it off leaves saved overrides in place for later but stops using them.
Exempt a Member
Section titled “Exempt a Member”- Go to WB Plugins > Member Blog > Restrictions.
- In the Exempt Users card, type in Search users by name or email….
- Pick the member from the results. They appear as a tag in the list.
- Click Save Settings.
To remove someone, click the x on their tag and save.
An exempt member has no posting limits and no word limits. They see no quota line above their Published list and no limit warning. Exemption does not affect Post Credits; credits have their own rule for who is never charged.
Which Rule Wins
Section titled “Which Rule Wins”- Administrator or on the Exempt Users list: no limits.
- Personal override, for each period it sets (when Per-User Overrides is on).
- Member-type limits.
- Role limits.
The same order decides the quota line, the warning and the refusal banner, so a member is always told about the limit that is actually enforced.
