Pro. This feature requires WB Member Blog Pro. The free plugin must be installed and active first. See the Pro index for every Pro module.
Pick a date and time, and your post publishes itself then. This page is for members writing a post. Site owners should read Scheduling first.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- The Post Scheduling module is on.
- Your role is allowed to schedule (the site owner decides this). If you do not see Schedule for later, your role is not allowed.
Schedule a new post
Section titled “Schedule a new post”- Write your post as usual.
- Open Post settings and expand the Publishing section.
- Tick Schedule for later.
- Click Publish Date & Time and pick a date and time. Times are in the site’s timezone, shown under the field.
- Optional: untick Email me when published if you do not want an email when it goes live.
- Click the publish button. The post is scheduled.
The note under the picker tells you the minimum lead time, for example “Posts must be scheduled at least 1 hour(s) in the future.”
If the site reviews posts before they go live, your post goes to review first. Once approved, it publishes at the time you picked.
Schedule a draft you already saved
Section titled “Schedule a draft you already saved”You can schedule from the post form, as above, or from the Calendar tab:
- Go to your blog home and open Calendar.
- Find the draft under Unscheduled drafts.
- Drag it onto a day, or click Schedule and pick a date and time.
See The Calendar and Your Scheduled Posts.
When scheduling does not work
Section titled “When scheduling does not work”Your post is never published early by mistake. If the schedule cannot be accepted, the post is saved as a draft and a message says why:
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Please choose a date and time to schedule this post. | Pick a date in Publish Date & Time. |
| Posts must be scheduled at least N hours in the future. | Pick a later time. |
| You can only schedule up to N days ahead. | Pick an earlier date. |
| You can have at most N scheduled posts at once. | Wait for one to publish, or unschedule one. |
Clicking the save-draft button keeps the post as a draft even when Schedule for later is ticked.
At publish time
Section titled “At publish time”When your scheduled time arrives:
- The post goes live, and you get an email if you left Email me when published ticked.
- If the post is under the site’s minimum word count, it goes back to draft instead.
- If your posting limit or credits no longer allow it, it goes back to draft and you are emailed the reason. Nothing you wrote is lost.
