Related posts suggest what to read next: a strip of posts that share a category or tag with the one being read, under the article. You can add the strip to every post automatically, or place it yourself with a block or shortcode.

  1. Go to WB Plugins > Member Blog > Features.
  2. Under On your site’s own pages, switch on Related posts.
  3. Click Save Features.
  4. Optional: on the Content tab, set How many related posts, then click Save Settings.

Related posts Features Adds a strip of related posts under each single post Off
How many related posts Content Number of posts in the automatic strip, 1 to 12 4

Related posts is off by default, including on new sites, because many themes already show related posts and two strips under one article looks broken. Check your theme’s options before switching it on.

Under each single post, after the article, the clap and save buttons and the author box (when those are on):

  • A “Related posts” heading.
  • The related posts in a 2-column grid that collapses to one column on a phone, each with its title, author and date.
  • Featured images, but only when every post in the strip has one, so the cards line up.

How posts are picked. Posts that share a category or a tag with the current post come first. If there are not enough, the strip is topped up with recent posts, so a post with few matches still gets suggestions. When nothing can be suggested at all, nothing is shown.

Use the Related Posts block or the [bp-member-blog-related] shortcode when you want the strip in a specific place, for example in a single-post template or a sidebar. It works whether or not the automatic strip is on; if you place it manually, keep the automatic one off so readers do not see two.
