The Calendar and Your Scheduled Posts

Pro. This feature requires WB Member Blog Pro. The free plugin must be installed and active first. See the Pro index for every Pro module.

The Calendar tab on your blog home shows your publishing plan: what is published, what is scheduled and which drafts are waiting. You can move a scheduled post to another day, schedule a draft, or take a post off the schedule.

  1. Go to your blog home (your dashboard, or the Blog tab of your profile).
  2. Open the Calendar tab.

The Calendar tab appears for members who can write posts, whenever the Post Scheduling module is on. Each member only ever sees their own posts.

  • A Month or Week view. Switch with the buttons at the top, and move between months or weeks with the arrows.
  • Posts on the day they were published or are scheduled, marked Published, Scheduled or Draft (see the legend).
  • Unscheduled drafts, a tray of your drafts with when each was last edited. It shows your latest drafts, with a link to see all of them.
  • On phones, the grid becomes an agenda list by day.

When nothing is scheduled in the view, a message suggests lining up your next post, with a Schedule a post button.

  1. Find the scheduled post on the Calendar.
  2. Drag it to another day, or click Reschedule on the post and pick a new date and time.

The post keeps its time of day when you drag it. Dragging needs a mouse; on phones and with a keyboard, use Reschedule.

  1. Find the draft under Unscheduled drafts.
  2. Drag it onto a day, or click Schedule and pick a date and time.

The same rules apply as in the post form: the minimum lead time, the maximum window and the per-member limit. If the site reviews posts first, the message says Sent for review. Once approved, it will publish at the time you picked.

Unscheduling turns a scheduled post back into a draft. Nothing is deleted.

  1. Find the scheduled post on the Calendar.
  2. Click Unschedule on the post (an x icon on the month and week grid, a labelled button in the phone list).
  3. Confirm with Yes, unschedule, or choose Keep scheduled.

The post leaves the Calendar and is back in your drafts. After the page reloads it is under Unscheduled drafts, and you can schedule it again whenever you like. The Scheduled Posts list (below) has the same Unschedule (back to draft) action.

The Scheduled Posts list shows your scheduled posts with their date and time in site time, and Reschedule and Unschedule (back to draft) for each. Site owners can place it on any page:

Visitors who are not logged in see a prompt to log in. The list is paginated.
