WB Member Blog needs two pages: one where members write posts and one where they manage them. The Pages tab tells the plugin which pages those are, and sets the label and address of the Blog tab on member profiles.
Go to WB Plugins > Member Blog > Pages.
On a new site both pages are created for you when the plugin is activated (“Add new post” and “My Blog Dashboard”), so this tab is already filled in. Use it when a page was deleted, renamed or needs replacing.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Submission page (card: Blog Post Submission Page) | The page members write and submit posts on. It must contain the [bp-member-blog] shortcode. |
“Add new post” page created on activation |
| Dashboard page (card: Member Blog Dashboard Page) | The page members view and manage their posts on. It must contain the [member-blog-dashboard] shortcode. |
“My Blog Dashboard” page created on activation |
| Blog Tab Label | The label of the Blog tab on member profiles | Blog |
| Blog Tab URL Slug | The address of that tab: /members/username/blog/ |
blog |
Choose or create the two pages
Section titled “Choose or create the two pages”For each page:
- Pick a published page from the dropdown, or click Auto Create Page.
- Click Save Settings if you picked from the dropdown. Auto Create Page saves on its own.
When a page is set, the card shows “Mapped to: {page title}” and a View Page button.
What Auto Create Page does:
| Button | Creates | Shortcode added |
|---|---|---|
| Submission page | “Add new post” at /add-new-post/ |
[bp-member-blog] |
| Dashboard page | “My Blog Dashboard” at /my-blog-dashboard/ |
[member-blog-dashboard] |
If a page already exists at that address, Auto Create Page uses it instead of making a second one. When that page is missing its shortcode, the shortcode is added to the end of the page, so the page is repaired rather than duplicated. Either way the setting is saved and the card updates.
“Shortcode missing” warning. When the page you chose does not contain its shortcode, the card shows “Shortcode missing”. Add the shortcode to that page, or use Auto Create Page.
The two pages also appear on the Overview tab under Configuration Status, with a Configure button when one is not set.
Profile Blog tab
Section titled “Profile Blog tab”With BuddyPress, BuddyBoss or PeepSo, each member profile has a Blog tab showing that member’s posts and blog home. Standalone sites do not have this tab and can ignore these fields.
- Enter a Blog Tab Label, for example “Articles” or “Journal”. The preview under the field updates as you type. Leave it empty to keep “Blog”.
- Enter a Blog Tab URL Slug using lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, for example
articles. The preview shows the resulting address. - Click Save Settings.
Links to member blogs across the site use the new slug straight away.
