Pro. This feature requires WB Member Blog Pro. The free plugin must be installed and active first. See the Pro index for every Pro module.

This page covers the three jobs around a group’s blog: a group admin switching the blog on, a member sharing a post with the group, and managing posts from the group’s Blog tab. Site owners should set up Group Blogs first.

Each group has its own Enable Blog switch. It is only offered when the site owner has turned on group integration.

  1. As a group admin, open the group and go to Manage > Settings.
  2. Tick Enable Blog.
  3. Save the group settings.

New groups created after integration is turned on start with Enable Blog ticked, and the switch is also offered in the Settings step of group creation. Groups that existed before need it ticked once.

  1. Open the post form.
  2. Open Post settings and expand Category, tags and image.
  3. In Group, choose the group. The list shows only groups where:
    • you are a member,
    • your role in the group is one the site owner allows to link posts,
    • the group’s privacy is one the site owner allows, and
    • the group’s blog is enabled.
  4. Publish the post.

The post appears on the group’s Blog tab. If the site posts group activity, the group is told about it. If the post goes to moderation first, it appears once it is approved.

If you do not see Group, none of your groups meets all four conditions.

A post can be linked to one group. To remove the link, edit the post and choose No group; the post leaves the group’s Blog tab, and its group activity entry is removed. Site administrators can also link a post to any group from the Group Links box in the WordPress post editor, and remove the link there by choosing no group.

Each post on the Blog tab has an Edit link for anyone allowed to edit it: the author, its co-authors, the group’s admins and moderators, and site editors. The same people get a More actions menu on the post:

Action Who sees it What happens
Unpublish Anyone who can edit the post After a confirmation, the post becomes a draft and leaves the Blog tab. The author finds it in their Drafts and can publish it again.
Feature / Unfeature Group roles allowed to feature, in this group See Featured Posts in Groups.
Delete The author, the group’s admins and site editors After a confirmation, the post moves to Trash, where a site administrator can restore it. It is never deleted outright.

Unpublish and Delete follow the same rules as the member dashboard. Publishing a draft again goes through the site’s review rules, so a member whose posts need review is asked to submit it for review. If your site deletes a post’s featured image along with the post, that happens here too, except when another post still uses the image.
