With PeepSo active, WB Member Blog adds a Blog tab to PeepSo member profiles. The tab holds the same member home as the My Blog Dashboard page: the same tabs, post cards and counts. PeepSo keeps doing what it does best, status updates and the activity stream, while members write long-form posts in Member Blog.

PeepSo 9.0 or later is required. If BuddyPress or BuddyBoss Platform is also active, the plugin runs in BuddyPress or BuddyBoss mode instead (BuddyBoss takes priority when both are present).

Who is looking What they see
The member, if they may write Published, Drafts, Pending, then Saved and Following. With Pro: Calendar, Analytics and Settings
The member, if their role cannot write Saved and Following
Anyone else Published. The tab is hidden on a profile with no published posts

Create Post opens the submission page set under Pages. If no submission page is set, the composer opens inside the profile at {profile}/blog/create/, and editing opens at {profile}/blog/edit/{post ID}/. The composer only opens on your own profile, so edit links in emails and notifications are built on the recipient’s profile.

The tab label and URL slug follow Blog Tab Label and Blog Tab URL Slug under WB Plugins > Member Blog > Pages > Profile Tab Customisation, the same settings BuddyPress uses.

PeepSo core lists a member’s WordPress posts under its own “Blog” tab. With Member Blog active that would be a second tab with the same name, so it is hidden by default. A bookmarked link to PeepSo’s /blogposts/ page still works.

To keep PeepSo’s tab as well, add this to your theme’s functions.php or a small plugin:

add_filter( 'bpmb_hide_peepso_blogposts_tab', '__return_false' );

A member who may write gets a My Blog item in the WordPress toolbar with:

  • Create Post - opens the composer.
  • Drafts - opens the Drafts tab of their profile Blog tab.

PeepSo creates the activity entry when a post is published. Member Blog adds the post’s featured image and excerpt to that entry.

  1. In PeepSo, go to PeepSo > Configuration > Blog Posts and turn on Publish blog posts to activity stream.
  2. In Member Blog, leave Rich activity feed posts on under the Content tab.

If Rich activity feed posts is on but PeepSo’s setting is off, administrators see a notice explaining that nothing is being posted.

Emails work on PeepSo: follower, clap and digest emails from the free plugin, and the approval, publishing and co-author emails from Pro’s Notifications module. The on-site notification bell needs BuddyPress, so PeepSo sites get email only.

  • Allowed Member Types on the Access tab. Member types are a BuddyPress feature; use Allowed User Roles.
  • Group Blogs (Pro). The module needs BuddyPress or BuddyBoss groups.

The Blog tab is missing on another member’s profile. That member has no published posts yet. The tab appears once they publish.

Two Blog tabs. Remove any bpmb_hide_peepso_blogposts_tab filter that returns false, and clear caches.

No activity entries. Turn on Publish blog posts to activity stream in PeepSo’s Blog Posts settings.

The composer does not load. See Editor and media issues.
