Pro. This feature requires WB Member Blog Pro. The free plugin must be installed and active first. See the Pro index for every Pro module.

Group Blogs gives each BuddyPress or BuddyBoss group a Blog tab. Members share a post with a group by choosing the group when they write it. The post then appears on that group’s Blog tab, can announce itself in the group’s activity stream, and group admins can pin the best posts to the top.

Use it when your community is organised into groups (clubs, courses, teams, chapters) and each group should have its own stream of writing. The module is off by default.

Requires BuddyPress or BuddyBoss with the Groups component active. On a site without groups the module stays inactive even when switched on, and the Group Blogs tab says the site is in standalone mode.

  1. Go to WB Plugins > Member Blog > Manage Modules.
  2. Switch on Group Blogs. The switch saves as you flip it.
  3. Open the Group Blogs tab that now appears in the Member Blog settings sidebar.
  4. Tick Enable BuddyPress Group Integration.
  5. Under Who can link their posts to groups?, tick at least one role. Until you do, nobody can link a post to a group.
  6. Review the other settings below and click Save Settings.
  7. In each group that should have a blog, a group admin turns on Enable Blog (see Link Posts to Groups).

Found on WB Plugins > Member Blog > Group Blogs.

See Featured Posts in Groups.

  • A Blog tab on the group (the label and slug follow your free plugin’s blog label and slug settings), with a post count on BuddyPress Nouveau themes.
  • The published posts linked to the group by its members, featured posts first, each featured one marked Featured.
  • When the group has no posts yet: No posts in this group yet, with a Write a post button for members who can write.

The Blog tab shows only when the group’s blog is enabled and Enable BuddyPress Group Integration is on. That holds for every visitor, logged in or not. Who can open it follows the group’s own privacy: anyone for a public group, members only for a private or hidden group. Only posts whose author is a current member of the group are listed.

With Group Activity for New Posts on, publishing a linked post adds an entry such as “Alice posted a new post My Title in group Photography” to the group’s activity stream. The entry is kept out of the site-wide activity stream and follows the group’s privacy. A post published after moderation gets its group entry when it is approved.
