Print and download a resume

WP Career Board overviewFree + ProGet WP Career Board →

You can print a resume or save it as a PDF. Every resume page has a Print button and a Download PDF button in the header.

Print opens the browser’s print dialog. The printed page:

  • hides the buttons, save and social links;
  • keeps the sidebar (skills, languages and similar) beside the main column, as on screen;
  • prints at one type size on every theme.

Print from the resume’s own page. On a page you built with the resume block, your theme’s print styles apply.

If the printout looks wrong in your theme, see Troubleshooting: resume printing and PDF.

Download PDF builds an A4 PDF from the resume. It contains:

  • the candidate’s name, email, phone and location;
  • the resume headline, if there is one, in place of the resume title;
  • the summary;
  • each resume section that has entries.

Only signed-in people can download. A visitor who is not signed in sees Sign in to download PDF. The download is allowed for the candidate, for anyone who is allowed to read that resume, and for site managers.

To use another PDF engine, return a callable from the wcbp_resume_pdf_renderer filter. It receives the HTML and the resume ID and returns the PDF bytes.

Add your own buttons next to these with the wcb_add_more_info_hero_actions action.
