Featured upgrade
You can let employers spend credits to make a job Featured. Featured jobs list first and show the Featured badge.
How employers feature a job
Section titled “How employers feature a job”- On the job form: a checkbox reads “Feature this job: it lists first for N days (X credits)”.
- From My Jobs: the Feature button on a job asks “Feature this job?”, shows the cost, then confirms.
Both show only while credits are on and the cost is above 0. If the balance is too short, the employer is sent to the Credits tab to buy more.
Set the cost and the length
Section titled “Set the cost and the length”- Cost: Settings -> Credits -> Featured upgrade (default 10 credits). Set 0 to turn the paid upgrade off.
- Length: Settings -> Jobs -> Featured Duration (days) in the Free plugin (default 30, from 1 to 365). A daily task clears the Featured flag when the period ends. The employer then gets a bell notification and a “Featured ended” email.
Featuring the same job again after the period ended is a new period and charges again.
The cost passes through the wcbp_consumer_cost filter, so the tiered pricing matrix can discount it. To make featuring free for everyone:
add_filter( 'wcbp_consumer_cost', function ( $cost, $user_id, $item_id, $board_id, $consumer ) { return 'featured_upgrade' === $consumer ? 0 : $cost;}, 99, 5 );Premium boards
Section titled “Premium boards”Jobs on a board with a credit cost above 0 show as Featured automatically, at no extra charge. See Multi-board.
For developers
Section titled “For developers”POST /wcb/v1/jobs/{id}/feature charges the Featured upgrade and sets the flag. It returns wcb_not_featurable (409) unless the job is live or pending, and a 402 when credits are short. It uses the same charging code as job posts, so a job is never charged twice for one period.
