FAQ for candidates
Do I need an account to apply?
Section titled “Do I need an account to apply?”Usually not. Most sites let you apply with your name and email. If the site turns on Require login to apply, the job page shows Sign in to apply. To register, use the site’s Employer Registration page and choose Find a Job.
What do “Not selected” and “Position closed” mean?
Section titled “What do “Not selected” and “Position closed” mean?”Not selected means the employer chose not to move forward. Employers see this status as “Rejected”. Position closed means the employer closed the job before deciding, for example because the role was filled. You get an email in both cases. See My applications.
Why can’t I apply again to the same job?
Section titled “Why can’t I apply again to the same job?”You can apply to a job once. If you withdraw, you can apply again. As a guest, you also cannot apply to the same job with the same email within 24 hours.
Can I withdraw an application?
Section titled “Can I withdraw an application?”Yes, from Candidate Dashboard > My Applications. You can withdraw until the application has an outcome (hired, not selected, position closed or job removed), unless the site turned withdrawing off. The application stays in your list as Withdrawn and the employer is emailed.
I applied as a guest. How do I see my application?
Section titled “I applied as a guest. How do I see my application?”Register with the same email you applied with. Your earlier guest applications move to the new account when it is created and appear in My Applications. If you already had an account when you applied as a guest, they stay under the guest email.
Who can see my resume file?
Section titled “Who can see my resume file?”Only you, site staff, and the employer of a job you applied to with that file can open it. See Profile, account and notifications.
How do I stop deadline reminder emails?
Section titled “How do I stop deadline reminder emails?”Untick them under Candidate Dashboard > Settings > Email Notifications. Emails about your account, applications and payments are always sent.
How do I delete my account?
Section titled “How do I delete my account?”Go to Candidate Dashboard > Settings > Privacy & My Data and click Delete my account. Your account is locked at once and deleted after a waiting period, 14 days by default. To cancel, sign in again before then and choose Keep my account. Employers keep your applications with your details removed. They show as “Deleted candidate”.
