FAQ for employers
Why is my job not showing on the job board?
Section titled “Why is my job not showing on the job board?”Check these in order:
- Pending: the site holds new jobs for approval. The status shows in your dashboard job list.
- Awaiting payment: the job is approved and waiting for credits on sites that charge for postings.
- Expired: the deadline passed. Click Reopen for a new listing period.
- Rejected: edit the job and click Resubmit.
If none of these apply, ask your site admin whether the job was hidden by reports or a ban. See Job missing from Find Jobs.
Why did my job expire?
Section titled “Why did my job expire?”A job runs until its deadline. That is the date you set, or the site’s default listing length, which is 30 days unless the site owner changed it. After the deadline the job stops taking applications and leaves the listings at the next hourly check. On older sites this only happens once the site owner has clicked End jobs at their deadline under Settings > Jobs. Its page stays up and says it has expired, so shared links keep working. Applications you already received stay in your dashboard.
You get an email 3 days before the deadline and another when the job expires. Click Reopen to start a new listing period. See Manage your jobs.
How do credits work?
Section titled “How do credits work?”Credits are part of WP Career Board Pro, on sites that charge for postings. See Your credit balance and the Pro documentation.
How do I export my applicants?
Section titled “How do I export my applicants?”Open Employer Dashboard > Applications, select a job and click Export CSV. The file has every applicant for that job, not only the ones loaded on screen. See Applicant CSV export.
Can candidates see my notes and ratings?
Section titled “Can candidates see my notes and ratings?”No. Notes and star ratings (1 to 5) are visible only to the job’s employer and site staff.
What happens to applicants when I close a job?
Section titled “What happens to applicants when I close a job?”Applicants you have not hired or rejected move to Closed, and each gets a status email. Applicants you already decided on keep their status. Reopening the job puts the closed applicants back to their earlier status without emailing them again.
Why can’t I apply to a job as an employer?
Section titled “Why can’t I apply to a job as an employer?”Nobody can apply to their own job. A member who can post jobs but does not have the apply capability also cannot apply. Use a separate candidate account to test the apply flow.
