Installation and License Activation

Step 1: Install Product Roadmap (free)

Product Roadmap Pro requires the free Product Roadmap plugin, version 1.8.0 or newer, installed and active first.

  1. Install Product Roadmap from the WordPress.org plugin directory, or upload it manually.
  2. Activate it.

Step 2: Install the Pro addon

  1. Go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
  2. Upload the roadmap-pro-addon.zip file from your purchase.
  3. Click Install Now, then Activate.

If the active Product Roadmap version is older than Pro requires, Pro shows an admin notice naming the update needed and does not activate its features. It does not break the site or the free plugin. Update Product Roadmap to clear the notice.

Step 3: Activate your license

  1. Go to Roadmap > Settings > License.
  2. Enter your license key.
  3. Click Activate License.
  4. The status changes to Active when activation succeeds.

License statuses

Status Meaning
Active License is valid and working on this domain
Invalid Key is incorrect or not recognized
Expired License term has ended; renew to continue receiving updates and support

Deactivating a license

Click Deactivate on the License tab to free up the activation for use on another domain.

After activation

Once the license is active, you get access to:

  • Roadmap > Analytics in the admin menu
  • The Pro Features, Templates, and Advanced tabs under Roadmap > Settings
  • The Product column and Product filter dropdown on the Roadmap Items and Changelog admin lists
  • The Roadmap block in the block editor with the full Pro option set
  • CSV import/export under Roadmap > Settings > Import/Export

Troubleshooting activation

“Invalid License Key” Check for typos or extra spaces. Copy the key directly from your purchase confirmation email.

“License Expired” Check the expiration date in your purchase email and renew if needed.

“Activation Limit Reached” The license is already active on the maximum number of allowed domains. Deactivate it on an unused site first, or upgrade to a license with more activations.
