Analytics Dashboard
Track votes, comments, and engagement, and export the data.
Accessing analytics
Section titled “Accessing analytics”Go to Roadmap > Analytics in the WordPress admin.
Analytics requires the roadmap_view_analytics capability, which is granted to Administrators by default. Editors, Authors, and Contributors do not have it unless a site owner explicitly grants it to their role. Users without this capability cannot open the Analytics screen, call the analytics REST endpoints, or export the CSV report.
Overview cards

Charts
Section titled “Charts”Status Distribution (doughnut chart) - items grouped by status. Every item counts toward a slice, including items with no status term assigned.
Votes Over Time (line chart) - daily vote counts for the selected period, scoped correctly to the product filter when one is set.
Tables
Section titled “Tables”Popular Items - top 10 items by vote count, with vote and comment counts.
Recent Activity - last 20 activity events (vote, comment, status change), newest first.

The Refresh button reloads current data. Arriving at the Analytics screen from a product’s own frontend Analytics tab scopes the whole dashboard to that product automatically.
Exporting
Section titled “Exporting”Click Export to download the current filtered view as CSV. The export requires the roadmap_view_analytics capability and a valid nonce - it cannot be triggered by simply visiting a URL while logged in as a lower-privileged user.
Exported CSV values that would otherwise be interpreted as spreadsheet formulas (values starting with =, +, -, or @) are automatically neutralized before export, so opening the file in Excel or Sheets doesn’t execute unexpected formulas.
Data retention
Section titled “Data retention”Analytics events are pruned automatically after a retention window (90 days by default) by a daily background job. See Advanced settings to change the window.
Frontend analytics tab
Section titled “Frontend analytics tab”When a roadmap is displayed with a product attribute, an Analytics tab appears on the frontend board showing that product’s total items, votes, comments, and completion rate. Any visitor can see this tab - it isn’t gated by the roadmap_view_analytics capability, since it only shows aggregate counts for that one product.
