Multi-Product Management

Manage separate roadmaps for different products, apps, or services.

What products are

Products let you split roadmap items and changelog entries into separate boards - for example, “Mobile App”, “Web Platform”, and “API”. Products are managed as the roadmap_product taxonomy, shared by roadmap items, changelog entries, and guest suggestions, so filtering, timeline, export, and analytics are all accurate per product.

Creating a product

Go to Roadmap > Products.
Fill in the Add New Product form: Name (required), Slug (auto-generated, used in shortcodes), Description (optional, internal only).
Click Add New Product.

Deleting a product does not delete its items - they become unassigned and fall back to your default product.

One product per item

As of 1.8.0, a roadmap item, changelog entry, or guest suggestion belongs to exactly one product, matching how it already has one status, one vote count, and one link. The Products panel in the item editor (classic and block editor) is a single choice, not a multi-select.

If you need the previous multi-product-per-item behavior, restore it with a filter:

With this filter returning true, the Products panel becomes a multi-select again, and items can carry more than one product. With it returning false (the default), a REST save to /wp/v2/roadmap-items or /wp/v2/changelogs with more than one roadmap_product term is rejected with a 400 roadmap_single_product error.

For a feature that applies to every product, create a product like “All Products” or “Platform” and assign shared items there, rather than trying to put one item on multiple boards.

Assigning items to a product

New item: open the Products panel in the sidebar while creating the item, choose one product, and publish. If none is chosen, the item goes to your default product.

Existing item: open the item, change the selection in the Products panel, and update.

Bulk assignment: select multiple items on Roadmap > All Items, choose Edit from Bulk Actions, apply, then set the Product in Quick Edit and update.

Move to product (single click): select one or more items on Roadmap > All Items or Roadmap > Changelog, and choose Move to product: [Name] from the Bulk Actions dropdown - one action per existing product, no Quick Edit step needed.

Managing products in admin

Product column on the Roadmap Items and Changelog admin lists shows each entry’s product; click the header to sort.
Product filter dropdown above the list filters by product. The selection now persists correctly instead of resetting to “All Products” after filtering.

Displaying product roadmaps on the frontend

product takes one slug at a time. To show more than one product on a page, stack a shortcode per product:

[roadmap] with no product attribute shows your default product.

Multi-product changelogs

Changelog entries follow the same one-product rule and the same shortcode pattern:

Shows all changelog entries regardless of product.

Changelog REST endpoints

Advanced filtering

Beyond the free plugin’s status and category filters, Pro adds:
