Eventonomy and Eventonomy Pro ship with German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch and Brazilian Portuguese. Every string can be translated.
The site is still in English
Section titled “The site is still in English”Symptom: Labels and emails stay in English after you install the plugin.
Cause: WordPress picks the language from your site or user setting.
Fix:
- Go to Settings → General and set Site Language. Pick the exact variant, such as Deutsch or Português do Brasil.
- Open Users → Profile and check your own Language, which can override the site.
- Clear any page cache.
My language is not one of the six
Section titled “My language is not one of the six”Cause: Only those six ship with the plugin.
Fix: Add your own translation with a tool such as Loco Translate, using the eventonomy text domain (and eventonomy-pro for Pro). Save it in WordPress’s language folder so updates do not overwrite it.
A translation exists but some strings stay English
Section titled “A translation exists but some strings stay English”Symptom: Most labels translate, a few do not.
Cause: The translation files are older than your plugin version, or the compiled .mo file was not regenerated after you edited the .po file.
Fix: Compile the .mo file again, or update the translation. Update Free and Pro together so both language files match.
Event URLs are not translated
Section titled “Event URLs are not translated”The URL base (event by default) is set separately. Change it under Event URLs in Settings → Setup, then save Settings → Permalinks. See Permalinks Settings.
Event content is not translated
Section titled “Event content is not translated”Titles and descriptions you write are your content. Eventonomy translates its own interface, not your events. Use a multilingual plugin for event content.
