Quick answers to the questions site owners and attendees ask most. Each answer links to the full guide.

No. Free events, RSVPs, waitlists and reminders work without it. Paid tickets need Eventonomy Pro, which takes payment through Stripe or PayPal directly. WooCommerce is only needed if you choose This site’s own checkout (WooCommerce) as your payment method. See Payment Gateways.

Yes. Go to Eventonomy → Settings → Registration and pick an answer for Do attendees need an account?

  • Create an account automatically (default): the form offers a ticked checkbox to create an account. Visitors can untick it.
  • Guest, no account: nobody gets an account from registering.
  • Must log in: logged-out visitors see a login prompt.

Guests manage their RSVP through a secure link in their confirmation email. See RSVPs.

Yes, in Free. Set a repeat pattern in the event editor and Eventonomy creates each date for you, up to the number of months set under Expand recurring events up to (months ahead) in Settings → Appearance. Complex patterns need Pro. See Recurring Events and Advanced Recurrence.

How do time zones and all-day events work?

Section titled “How do time zones and all-day events work?”

Each event keeps its own time zone, and new events start in your WordPress site time zone. Pick a city, not a UTC offset, so times stay right across daylight saving changes.

To show visitors their own local time, change Timezone display in Settings → Appearance. Emails and calendar files always use the event time zone.

For an event with no clock time, tick All day in the editor. It then shows as a date everywhere. See Display Settings and Create Your First Event.

Mark the event Virtual and add the meeting address. Each registrant gets a personal join link on the event page and in their reminder email. The meeting address itself never appears on the page, and the link stops working if the registrant cancels. See Reminders & SMS.

Yes. Every visitor-facing and admin string can be translated. Eventonomy and Eventonomy Pro ship with German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch and Brazilian Portuguese. WordPress uses the language set in Settings → General → Site Language. For any other language, add your own translation files with a tool such as Loco Translate.

What happens to my data if I deactivate or delete the plugin?

Section titled “What happens to my data if I deactivate or delete the plugin?”

Deactivating keeps everything. Deleting the plugin removes the Eventonomy tables, options and capabilities only if you turned on Delete all Eventonomy data when the plugin is uninstalled in Settings → Setup → Site & data. It is off by default. See Advanced Settings.

Does Eventonomy handle GDPR export and erase requests?

Section titled “Does Eventonomy handle GDPR export and erase requests?”

Yes. Eventonomy plugs into Tools → Export Personal Data and Tools → Erase Personal Data. An export lists the person’s RSVPs and orders. An erase anonymizes RSVPs and strips personal details from orders while keeping the financial record. See Privacy & GDPR.

The app is a separate product and is not included in the plugin. The plugin provides the site side of the connection: app branding, a notification feed and device registration for push. Connecting an app needs Eventonomy Pro with a valid license. See Mobile App.

Can I move my events from another events plugin?

Section titled “Can I move my events from another events plugin?”

Yes. Eventonomy imports from The Events Calendar, EventON, Events Manager, WP Event Manager and Sugar Calendar, and from a CSV or iCalendar file. Scan first to preview, then import. Old event URLs redirect, and you can undo the import. See How to Migrate from Another Events Plugin.

Where do I check that everything is working?

Section titled “Where do I check that everything is working?”

Open Eventonomy → Setup & Health. It checks your database, pages, permalinks, background tasks, mail and event search. See Setup & Health.
