Emails Not Arriving

Confirmations, tickets and reminders go out through WordPress mail. If they are missing or land in spam, check these causes in order.
Confirmation and ticket emails never arrive
Section titled “Confirmation and ticket emails never arrive”Symptom: Attendees register but receive nothing. Not even spam.
Cause: Your host sends mail with WordPress’s default mail function, which many servers block or mark as spam. Setup & Health warns about this.
Fix:
- Go to Eventonomy → Setup & Health.
- Look at the row Emails go through a mail service. A warning means no SMTP or mail-service plugin was found.
- Install an SMTP or transactional mail plugin and connect it to your mail provider.
- Go to Eventonomy → Setup and open the Emails step. Check the From name and From address, then click Send test email.
See How to Keep Eventonomy Emails Out of Spam.
Emails land in spam
Section titled “Emails land in spam”Symptom: The test email arrives, but in the spam folder.
Cause: The From address does not match your domain, or your domain has no SPF, DKIM or DMARC records.
Fix: Use a From address on your own domain and add the records your mail provider lists. The deliverability guide walks through each step.
One person gets reminders or announcements, another does not
Section titled “One person gets reminders or announcements, another does not”Symptom: A single attendee never gets reminders, attendee messages or follow notifications.
Cause: They clicked Unsubscribe in an earlier email. Eventonomy then skips that address for notification emails: reminders, organizer messages and, with Pro, follow alerts. Confirmations, receipts and cancellation notices still reach them.
Fix: Ask the person to open the unsubscribe link from an earlier email and click Resubscribe on the page that follows. Opening the link alone changes nothing. See Unsubscribe & Suppression.
Reminders never send
Section titled “Reminders never send”Reminders run as a background job. If confirmations arrive but reminders do not, see Reminders and Background Jobs.
