Events Missing from the List

Eventonomy overviewFree + ProGet Eventonomy →

An event can exist yet not appear on the Events page, the calendar or in search. Work through these causes.

Symptom: The event shows in Eventonomy → Events but not on the site.

Cause: Only Published events appear in public lists. Draft, Pending and Cancelled events do not. A Private event is hidden from listings and opens only for people with its link.

Fix: Open the event and set the status to Published. Events from members may wait in the approval queue. See Managing Events and Moderation Inbox.

Symptom: An event from last week is gone.

Cause: Show past events is off by default.

Fix: Turn on Show past events in Settings → Appearance. Use Days of past events to show to limit how far back it goes. See Display Settings.

Symptom: A full event disappears from the Events list and Upcoming block.

Cause: Hide sold-out events from listings is on.

Fix: Turn it off in Settings → Registration. The event page itself still opens for anyone with its link.

Symptom: The event is in the list but searching for its title returns nothing.

Cause: The database search index fell behind, usually after the database stopped unexpectedly.

Fix:

  1. Go to Eventonomy → Setup & Health.
  2. Find the row Search cannot find N of your newest events. A healthy site shows Event search finds your newest events.
  3. Click Rebuild search index. It takes a moment and changes no events.

Developers can run wp eventonomy search-index to check and wp eventonomy search-index --rebuild to rebuild.

Symptom: One page shows fewer events than another.

Cause: A block or shortcode may be limited by category, venue or organizer, or by an active search filter in the page URL.

Fix: Check the block settings in the editor, and remove any filters from the page address. See Placing Blocks.
