Calendar Sync Not Updating

Pro - Live calendar sync requires Eventonomy Pro.

Manage feeds at Eventonomy → Sync Sources, or in the member dashboard under Connect & Import.

A feed shows an error instead of “Last synced”

Section titled “A feed shows an error instead of “Last synced””

Symptom: The feed is marked with a reason rather than a time.

Cause: The calendar could not be read. The address is wrong or unreachable, a token was revoked, or the file is too large.

Fix: Read the reason on the feed’s row, correct the address or token, then click Sync now.

Symptom: Adding the feed fails.

Cause: A feed address must be a public website address. Addresses that point to your own server or a private network are refused.

Fix: Use the calendar’s public iCalendar address. In Google Calendar, copy Public address in iCal format (the calendar must be public). In Outlook, publish the calendar and copy the ICS link. Test the address in a private browser window first.

Symptom: You added events at the source, but they are missing.

Cause: The feed re-imports on its schedule (hourly, daily, weekly or monthly). A large calendar imports in stages and shows Syncing until done. Scheduled syncs also need background tasks to run.

Fix:

  1. Click Sync now on the feed.
  2. If the feed has many events, wait for Syncing to finish.
  3. If Sync now works but the schedule does not, see Reminders and Background Jobs.

Adding a feed runs its first sync straight away, so events should appear without waiting.

Imported events are drafts or wait for review

Section titled “Imported events are drafts or wait for review”

Symptom: Events import but are not public.

Cause: A site-wide feed can save events as drafts, and member feeds follow your approval queue.

Fix: For site-wide feeds, set Imported events to publish straight away. For member feeds, approve events in the Moderation Inbox.

An event vanished after the source deleted it

Section titled “An event vanished after the source deleted it”

An upcoming event deleted from the source is cancelled here, not removed. It returns if it reappears at the source. Past events are never changed. See Calendar Sync.
