Shortcodes
LMS Notes provides three shortcodes. Two of them are placed automatically on the pages created during activation; you can also add them to any page or post.
[lcn_notes] - My Notes list
Section titled “[lcn_notes] - My Notes list”Displays the current learner’s own notes as a searchable, paginated list with edit, delete, and export actions.
- Placed automatically on the My Notes page.
- Logged-out visitors on a page with this shortcode are redirected to the home page.
[lcn_notes][lms_instructor_notes] - All Notes list
Section titled “[lms_instructor_notes] - All Notes list”Displays the notes written by students, for instructors and admins.
- Placed automatically on the All Notes page.
- Access is limited to admins, instructors/teachers, and LearnDash group leaders; other users are redirected home. Logged-out visitors see a “Please login to check notes” message.
[lms_instructor_notes][lms_notes] - Note icon on a specific page
Section titled “[lms_notes] - Note icon on a specific page”Renders the floating Create a Note icon on the page or post where you place it. Use this when the global note icon is disabled, or to add the icon to a specific piece of content.
- If you have enabled notes for specific additional post types, the icon only renders on those post types.
