Introduction

LMS Notes lets learners take notes directly inside their LMS courses, lessons, topics, and quizzes without leaving the lesson page. A floating “Create a Note” icon opens a note editor over the current content, and every note is saved to the learner’s account so it can be reviewed, edited, exported, or shared later.

What LMS Notes does

  • Adds a floating note icon on LMS course, lesson, topic, quiz, and assignment pages.
  • Saves each note against the exact course/lesson/topic the learner was viewing.
  • Lets learners tag notes with labels, search them, and export them to PDF or Word.
  • Gives learners a personal “My Notes” page and, optionally, a “Notes” tab on their BuddyPress/BuddyBoss profile.
  • Gives instructors and site admins an “All Notes” page to review the notes written by their students.

Supported LMS platforms

LMS Notes works with five LMS plugins. It automatically detects which one is active and adapts its behavior:

  • LearnDash
  • LifterLMS
  • Tutor LMS
  • Sensei LMS
  • LearnPress

At least one of these LMS plugins must be installed and active. If none is active, LMS Notes deactivates itself and shows an admin notice.
