Will a learner get duplicate notes for the same lesson?

No. Each learner has one note per content item. Reopening the icon on a lesson loads the existing note, and saving updates it.

  • Learners see only their own notes.
  • Instructors/teachers see notes from students enrolled in their courses.
  • LearnDash group leaders see notes from students in their groups.
  • Administrators see all notes.
  • Logged-out visitors are redirected to the home page.

Why can’t an instructor see the All Notes page?

Access to a page with [lms_instructor_notes] is limited to admins, recognized instructor/teacher roles, and LearnDash group leaders. Other logged-in users are redirected home. See Instructor and admin notes.

Yes. Labels attached to a note are included in its PDF and Word exports.

What happens to notes if I deactivate an LMS?

LMS Notes needs an active supported LMS to run. If no supported LMS is active, the plugin deactivates itself. Existing notes stay in the database and reappear once a supported LMS is active again.

No. Notes, labels, settings, and the auto-created pages remain in the database after uninstall. Remove them manually if you want them gone. See How notes are stored.
