Profile Statistics Tab
Members see a Statistics tab on their BuddyPress profile when the settings allow it. The tab opens with a welcoming top section (Your impact, a day streak, and Your journey) that celebrates the member’s own progress and never compares them against other members.
When the tab appears
Section titled “When the tab appears”The tab shows on a member’s profile when all of these are true:
- Settings > General > Profile Statistics tab (“Show a Statistics tab on every member profile”) is on.
- The viewer is logged in.
- The profile owner’s role is ticked under Settings > Display > Who Sees the Profile Statistics Tab.
- The viewer is the profile owner, or a site administrator.
Members see the tab on their own profile only. Site administrators can open the Statistics tab on any member’s profile.
If any of those fails, the tab is simply not shown. There’s no error or notice on the profile.
The tab does not depend on the charts. If no chart is ticked under Settings > General > Charts shown on profiles, the tab still appears and shows the impact, streak, and journey sections only.
If members can’t see their tab, open Settings > Display, tick their role, and click Save changes. With every role unticked, only administrators see member Statistics tabs.
Your impact
Section titled “Your impact”The first section of the tab. It covers the past month.
Headline
Section titled “Headline”- Eyebrow - “Your impact”
- Headline - a short, supportive sentence based on the member’s recent activity, for example “You’re on a roll. Engagement is up notably.” or “Your story is just beginning. Make your first post to start your impact.”
- Period line - shows the time frame the numbers cover.

Impact cards
Section titled “Impact cards”Three cards under the headline.

Each card has a short comparison line, for example “nothing yet, go say hi”, “starting strong”, or a percentage up or down “vs previous period”.
All comparisons are against the member’s own previous period of the same length, never against other members.
Day streak
Section titled “Day streak”Shown beside the impact headline.
- The big number is the member’s current run of consecutive days with a post.
- The line below shows their personal best, “New personal best. Keep going.” when they’re on one, or “Make your first post to start a streak” for new members.
The streak never shames a break. When it’s zero, the copy invites the member back.
Your journey
Section titled “Your journey”A timeline of milestones the member has reached, oldest first.
Milestones include:
- Joined the community - always present.
- First post - the member’s first activity update.
- 10th, 50th, 100th, 500th, and 1000th post - added as each is reached.
- First reaction received - the first time someone favorited or liked the member’s post.
- First friendship - first confirmed friend connection.
- First group joined - first group membership.
A “Member for N days” line gives the timeline context.
Charts below the top section
Section titled “Charts below the top section”The charts appear below the journey, one card each, in this order. Each one shows only when it’s ticked under Settings > General > Charts shown on profiles. Each chart has a Period (Weekly or Monthly, Monthly by default) and a Date picker.
Profile Activity Report
Section titled “Profile Activity Report”The member’s own activity over time: posts, comments, and updates. Needs the BuddyPress Activity component. If the component is off, the card shows a notice explaining which component to enable.
Engagement Report
Section titled “Engagement Report”Likes and reactions given and received over time. Needs the Activity component.
Message Report
Section titled “Message Report”Private messages sent and received. Needs the BuddyPress Messages component. If Messages is off, the card shows a notice instead of a chart.
Group Participation Report
Section titled “Group Participation Report”The member’s group activity: Groups Joined, Posts, and Comments, plus Your Most Active Groups. Needs the Groups component.
What controls the tab from the admin
Section titled “What controls the tab from the admin”- Settings > General > Member Profile Statistics - the tab switch and which of the four charts show.
- Settings > Display > Who Sees the Profile Statistics Tab - which member roles get the tab.
The impact, streak, and journey sections always show when the tab is shown. There’s no separate switch for them.
What changed in 2.0.1
Section titled “What changed in 2.0.1”- The Statistics tab stays on member profiles when no profile chart is selected. It shows the impact, streak, and journey sections. In 2.0.0 the whole tab disappeared in that case.
- Charts now load Monthly data on first view, matching the Monthly period already selected in the Period menu.
What changed in 2.0.0
Section titled “What changed in 2.0.0”- Your impact, day streak, and Your journey are new. They sit above every chart.
- Comparisons are always against the member’s own previous period, never against other members.
- Each chart card has its own empty state, so quiet periods don’t show a blank card.
