Settings - Display
The Display view is the second sub-tab under Settings. Access it at WB Plugins > BP Statistics > Settings > Display.
This view controls who sees the Statistics tabs once they’re switched on under General (user roles on the member side, group roles and group privacy on the group side), plus the data retention and IP anonymization settings.
Where this sits
Section titled “Where this sits”The Settings tab has three sub-tabs:
- General - tab switches + which charts show
- Display - this view (role gates, privacy gates, retention, IP anonymization)
- Maintenance - reset + full historical indexing
Card: Who Sees the Profile Statistics Tab
Section titled “Card: Who Sees the Profile Statistics Tab”A grid of the user roles registered on your site. Administrators always have access and are not listed.
- Tick the roles that should get a Statistics tab. A member with a ticked role sees the tab on their own profile when logged in.
- Members never see the Statistics tab on another member’s profile. Administrators can open it on any profile.
- Members whose role is unticked get no Statistics tab, even if General > Profile Statistics tab is on.
What the ticks mean. Until you save this card, every role shown ticked has access. If you untick every role and save, only administrators see member Statistics tabs.
Card: Who Sees the Group Statistics Tab
Section titled “Card: Who Sees the Group Statistics Tab”Two sets of checkboxes. Both must allow the viewer for the tab to appear.
Group role
Section titled “Group role”| Role | Meaning |

Members whose group role is unticked will not see a Statistics tab on that group. People who are not members of the group never see the tab, and that includes site administrators who haven’t joined the group.
Group privacy
Section titled “Group privacy”| Privacy | Meaning |

| Public | Anyone can browse the group. |
| Private | Only members can see group content. |
| Hidden | The group is invisible to non-members. |
Untick Private and Hidden if you only want statistics shown for groups anyone can join.
The two lists work together. A group member browsing a private group sees the tab only if Member is ticked under Group role AND Private is ticked under Group privacy.
Remember that the group tab also needs at least one chart selected under Settings > General > Charts shown on groups.
Card: Data Retention & GDPR
Section titled “Card: Data Retention & GDPR”Two settings that control how long activity log entries are kept and what is stored about the visitor.
Activity log retention
Section titled “Activity log retention”A number of days (1 to 730). A daily cleanup job removes entries older than this value. Values below 7 are treated as 7 days.
- Lower values keep the activity log small and charts fast.
- Higher values give you longer-range charts and a richer Activity Log search.
Default: 90 days.
IP anonymization
Section titled “IP anonymization”A single privacy switch:
Anonymize stored IP addresses (GDPR-friendly)
When on:
- IPv4 - the last number is zeroed (
192.168.1.42becomes192.168.1.0). - IPv6 - the last 80 bits are zeroed.
Anonymization happens before the IP address is saved, so the original address is never stored. Leave this on unless you have a specific need to keep full IP addresses. On by default.
Saving
Section titled “Saving”Click Save changes at the bottom of the page. Saving Display never changes your General sub-tab options, and saving General never changes the options here.
What changed in 2.0.1
Section titled “What changed in 2.0.1”- The settings screens work on phones. In 2.0.0 they could appear blank on small screens.
