Profile Fields
The Profile Fields view is the fourth sub-tab under Analytics. Access it at WB Plugins > BP Statistics > Analytics > Profile Fields.
It shows how members are filling out their BuddyPress profile fields: one chart per compatible field, plus a member type chart when member types are registered.
Where this sits
Section titled “Where this sits”The view is a sub-tab under Analytics:
Analytics > Activity & Engagement / Retention / Engagement / Profile Fields / Advanced Analytics
Bookmarks to the old stand-alone “Profile Fields” page open this view.
Component dependency
Section titled “Component dependency”This view requires BuddyPress Extended Profiles (or the BuddyBoss equivalent) to be active. If the component is turned off, the view shows a single notice asking you to enable it.
What gets a chart
Section titled “What gets a chart”The view finds every profile field on your site and draws a chart for the ones that can be summarized visually:
| Field type | Chart |
|---|---|
| Date selector | Chart of date values (for example age ranges for a birthday field). |
| Drop-down select / Gender | One bar per option. |
| Radio buttons | One bar per option. |
| Checkboxes / Multi-select box | Chart of checked options; members can count toward more than one option. |
| Member types (automatic) | A BuddyPress Member Types chart of members per member type, if any are registered. |
Text boxes, multi-line text, and URL fields are left out, because they don’t summarize cleanly into a chart.
Empty / no-fields state
Section titled “Empty / no-fields state”If the site has Extended Profiles active but no compatible field is configured, the view renders an empty-state card:
No Compatible Profile Fields Found
Statistics are currently unavailable as no compatible profile fields have been configured. Supported field types: radio buttons, dropdown select, date selector, gender field, checkboxes, multi-select box.
A Configure Profile Fields button opens Users > Profile Fields so you can add a compatible field.
Reading the charts
Section titled “Reading the charts”Each chart is rendered inside its own card with the field name as the heading. Hover for exact counts. Charts sit in a responsive grid: they stack on phones and sit side by side on wider screens.
What to look for
Section titled “What to look for”- One option above 90% - either the default is sticking, the question is unclear, or one segment is overwhelmingly your audience.
- Even split across many options - healthy diversity; consider that segment in your messaging.
- Many members with no answer - members aren’t completing this field. Decide whether to mark it required, reword the label, or drop it entirely.
