Overview Dashboard
The Overview tab is the at-a-glance home of the plugin. Access it at WB Plugins > BP Statistics > Overview.
The Overview page leads with the Community Pulse block and the Members to know about panel (Champions, Rising, Fading), then the Community Summary, Top Groups, and Top Contributors cards. A busy admin can land on the page and see within seconds whether the community needs attention.
Block: Community Pulse
Section titled “Block: Community Pulse”The Pulse block sits at the top of the page and answers one question: is my community healthy right now?
It renders:
- A Community health score out of 100 in a ring, plus the change compared with the previous period.
- A headline that changes its wording with the score (see below).
- A period line (“Showing for the past week”) so the score is never read out of context. The Pulse covers the past 7 days and compares them with the 7 days before.
- Three signal cards for the three things that go into the score.
- A Suggested next steps list: two or three concrete actions an admin can take right now.
Signals
Section titled “Signals”| Signal | What it measures |

| Activity volume | Activity posted in the period (updates and comments). |
| Active members | Share of registered members who posted at least once in the period. |
| Coming back | Members who were active in BOTH this period AND the previous one - your “stickiness” number. |
Each signal shows its own value and its own up/down delta vs the previous period, so even if the overall score is flat you can see which signal moved.
Score bands
Section titled “Score bands”The headline, color, and next steps change with the score. Use the color as a quick visual cue:

| Steady | Score 45 - 69 | Healthy baseline. Small, consistent prompts will lift it further. |
| Needs attention | Score 25 - 44 | Something is slipping. Try a fresh prompt or recognize top contributors. |
| At risk | Score below 25 | Activity is quiet. A re-engagement campaign would help. |
The Suggested next steps list is based on the score and the three signals. For example, if the score needs attention and Coming back is the weak signal, you’ll see actions about re-engaging lapsed members rather than just “post more”.
Use the Pulse as your weekly check-in. If the score holds steady for several weeks, that is the signal: not a crisis, just a baseline you can build on.
Block: Members to know about
Section titled “Block: Members to know about”A three-column panel right under the Pulse (“Who to recognize, who to nurture, who to re-engage.”). Each column shows up to five members from the past week, with their avatar and display name.

Each column has its own empty state (for example “No champions yet - your first big contributors will appear here.”) so the panel is never blank during the first weeks of a new community.
The lifecycle data comes from the same source as the Pulse signals, so what shows up in Fading also drives the Pulse “Coming back” signal.
Block: Community Summary
Section titled “Block: Community Summary”A summary card with Today / Week / Month buttons in the header. Month is selected by default.
The KPIs are:
- Registrations - new sign-ups in the window.
- Activities - activity items posted in the window.
- Groups - groups created in the window.
Below the numbers, a chart breaks them down so you can see which days are stronger. A label shows the active period, for example “Summary today”, “Summary - week to date”, or “Summary - month to date”.
If the BuddyPress Activity component is turned off, the card shows a notice explaining that Activity must be enabled.
Block: Top Groups
Section titled “Block: Top Groups”A bar chart of the five most active groups in the past week (“Where engagement is concentrated right now.”).
If the BuddyPress Groups component is turned off, the chart is replaced with a notice.
Block: Top Contributors
Section titled “Block: Top Contributors”A ranked list of members with the most activity in the selected range.
- Filter dropdown: Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 3 months.
- Optional date input to anchor the range to a specific day.
Use this when you want to dig deeper than the Champions column: Champions is the top 5 for the past week, while Top Contributors has its own range and date filter.
Block: Need help
Section titled “Block: Need help”A small card at the bottom of the Overview with a link to the Wbcom Designs support center. It replaces the separate Support tab from earlier versions.
What changed in 2.0.0
Section titled “What changed in 2.0.0”If you’re coming from 1.8.x:
- The old Welcome / Overview / Report tabs are merged into this single Overview.
- The Community Pulse block, the Champions / Rising / Fading triptych, and the segmented Today / Week / Month control are new.
- All comparisons are against the previous period of the same length, never against other communities.
- Bookmarks and old support links to the Welcome, Report, and Support pages open this tab.
