Group Statistics

When a group page shows the Statistics tab, it holds up to four chart cards, described below. The cards use the same look as the rest of the plugin, so the page sits comfortably inside your theme, including dark mode on BuddyX and Reign.

When the tab appears

The Statistics tab shows on a group page when all of these are true:

Settings > General > Group Statistics tab (“Show a Statistics tab on every group”) is on.
At least one chart is ticked under Settings > General > Charts shown on groups. While none are ticked, the tab is hidden on every group.
The viewer is a member of the group, and their group role (Administrator, Moderator, or Member) is ticked under Settings > Display > Who Sees the Group Statistics Tab.
The group’s privacy level (Public, Private, or Hidden) is ticked under the same card.

Site administrators follow the same rules. A site administrator who hasn’t joined the group doesn’t see the tab.

Card: Activity Levels

Posts, comments, and likes inside the group over time. Shown when Activity levels is ticked.

Field	What it does
Time period	Weekly or Monthly grouping for the chart.
Reference date	Anchors the chart to a specific day. Capped at today.

What you see

A chart of posts, comments, and likes in the selected period.
A loading message while the data loads, and an empty state when the group has no activity in the selected period.

Card: Top Contributors

A ranked table of the group’s most active members, showing each member’s activities, comments, likes, and total. Up to 10 members are listed. Shown when Top contributors is ticked.

When nobody has contributed yet, the card shows “No contributors yet.”

Card: Group Growth

New members joining the group, plotted over time. Shown when Membership growth is ticked.

Useful for spotting when a group stops attracting new members, which a plain member count doesn’t show.

Card: Group Engagement

An Active vs. Inactive split of the group’s members over the last 30 days. Shown when Active vs. inactive members is ticked.

Active Members - members who took part in the group recently.
Inactive Members - members who haven’t.

Useful for sizing the quiet share of a group. A mostly inactive group with a busy Activity Levels chart is being carried by a small core. Consider inviting quieter members into conversations.

Empty and disabled states

Groups component turned off in BuddyPress - the group tab doesn’t exist, because there are no group pages.
No chart ticked in Settings > General - the tab is hidden on every group.
Activity component turned off - cards that need activity data have nothing to show.

Group Statistics uses the same card design as the rest of the plugin.
“No contributors yet” empty state added on Top Contributors.
Access uses two lists on Settings > Display: group role AND group privacy must both allow the viewer.
Theme compatibility: cards follow the colors and spacing of BuddyX-family themes.
The cards stack in a single column, so every chart gets the full content width.
