Quick Setup

Get your business directory running in a few minutes.

Step 1: Create the Directory Page

Section titled “Step 1: Create the Directory Page”
  1. Go to Pages > Add New
  2. Title it “Business Directory” (or your preferred name)
  3. Add this shortcode to the content: 
    [bp-business-listing]
  4. Publish the page

Step 2: Create the Create-Business Page

Section titled “Step 2: Create the Create-Business Page”
  1. Go to Pages > Add New
  2. Title it “Create Business”
  3. Leave the content empty (the plugin renders the creation wizard)
  4. Publish the page

Step 3: Configure Settings

Section titled “Step 3: Configure Settings”
  1. Go to WB Plugins > Business Profile > General Settings
  2. Set these options:
Setting What to Select
Business Directory Page Your directory page
Create Business Page Your create-business page
Business Labels Keep “Business/Businesses” or customize
  1. Click Save Changes
  2. Go to Settings > Permalinks and click Save Changes to flush rewrite rules

Step 4: Add to Your Menu

Section titled “Step 4: Add to Your Menu”
  1. Go to Appearance > Menus
  2. Add your Business Directory page to the menu
  3. Save the menu

You are Ready

Section titled “You are Ready”

Your business directory is now live. Members can:

  • Browse businesses on your directory page
  • Create their own business pages
  • Follow, review, and interact with businesses
