Introduction to MediaShield Pro

MediaShield overviewFree + ProGet MediaShield →

MediaShield Pro is a WordPress plugin that extends the free MediaShield plugin with professional-grade video protection, analytics, and platform management.

Requires: the free MediaShield plugin must be installed and activated. MediaShield Pro is an add-on – it extends the free plugin through WordPress hooks and does not work standalone. Free and Pro are released together, so run matching versions.

  • Advanced watermark with 7 configurable text fields: username, email, IP address, user ID, timestamp, site name, and custom text. Adjustable font size.
  • Role-based access – restrict any video to a single WordPress user role.
  • Suspicious activity detection – multiple-IP, developer-tools, and rapid-seek detection with an alerts dashboard and configurable sensitivity. Optional VPN/proxy lookup, off by default.
  • User whitelisting to suppress future alerts for known-safe users.
  • ClearKey DRM – experimental, and not usable as shipped. See DRM before planning around it.
  • Browse and bulk import videos from Bunny Stream, YouTube, Vimeo, and Wistia.
  • Connect multiple libraries per platform.
  • Upload drivers for all four platforms, with an Upload Queue screen tracking job status. Choosing a platform as an upload destination is API-only in 1.3.0 – admin uploads are stored on your own site.
  • Bunny Stream webhook for encoding status updates.
  • Per-video playback heatmaps (10-second position buckets).
  • Realtime viewer dashboard with 15-second auto-refresh.
  • Device and browser breakdown.
  • CSV and async PDF exports.
  • Weekly digest email.
  • Playlist funnel drop-off analysis, available through the REST API only – there is no screen for it yet.
  • Link videos to lessons in LearnDash, Tutor LMS, or LifterLMS.
  • Auto-mark lessons complete when a viewer finishes the linked video.
  • Automatic display of the linked video on the lesson page.
  • Per-video enrollment gating.
  • Third-party LMS adapter API.
  • GDPR data export and erasure for Pro-owned data (DRM licenses, upload queue, playback events, and milestone completion records).
  • Video upload from the admin for authorized users. (The front-end [mediashield_upload] shortcode was retired in 1.3.0 – it never worked. Upload at Videos > Add New instead.)
