Footnote Block

The Footnote block (abt/footnote) adds a numbered footnote at the current position and places its text in the footnotes list for the post.

Add a footnote

1. Add the Footnote block where the footnote marker should appear.
2. Type the footnote text.

Footnotes are numbered automatically in document order. The marker style (numbered, symbol, or alphabetical) follows the Footnote Style setting in References > Settings > General.

Footnotes sidebar

A document-level Footnotes panel lists every footnote in the current post so you can review and reorder them while editing.

Shortcode equivalent

Outside the block editor, use the [abt_footnote] shortcode:

[abt_footnote]This is the footnote text.[/abt_footnote]
