Goal: choose what members rate. Either one overall rating, or several things such as “Communication” and “Quality”.

  1. Go to WB Plugins > Member Reviews and open the Criteria tab.
  2. Switch Multiple Criteria on. (“Rate members by multiple criteria (e.g., Communication, Skills) instead of a single overall rating.”)
  3. The list of criteria appears. Each row is one thing members rate.
    • To rename one, click in its box and type.
    • To add one, click Add Criteria, then type its name in the new box.
    • To remove one, click Remove on its row.
    • To change the order, drag a row by the handle at its left (the three-line mark).
  4. Click Save Changes.

You start with two criteria, “Member Response” and “Member Skills”.

  1. Open the Criteria tab.
  2. Switch Multiple Criteria off. The list hides.
  3. Click Save Changes.

Members now see a single row of stars labeled “Rating”. Keep at least one row in the hidden list. If the list is empty, members get no stars at all and can only write text.

  • With several criteria, the review form shows one row of five stars per criterion, in the order you set.
  • On the Reviews tab, each review shows its overall stars and a breakdown by criterion.
  • To submit, members must either rate every criterion or write something.
  • Three to five criteria work best. Long lists put members off.
  • Names are plain text. Use short names that read well next to stars.
  • Renaming a criterion does not erase old ratings. Old reviews keep the old name; new reviews use the new one. Settle your list before you launch.
  • The overall rating shown for each review and for each member is an average of the criteria. See Star Ratings and Criteria.
  • You changed the criteria but the form looks the same: save the tab, then reload the member profile (clear any page cache).
  • The criteria list is missing: Multiple Criteria is off. Switch it on.
