Integrations
BuddyLists works with BuddyPress and BuddyBoss Platform, and adds behaviour when certain companion plugins are active. No configuration is needed beyond activating the companion plugin.

One of these must be active for BuddyLists to run.
Follow plugins
Section titled “Follow plugins”When a BP-Follower style follow plugin is active, public lists show follow buttons beside member names. Follower and following counts are read from the active platform: BuddyBoss follow counts are used on BuddyBoss, and BP Follow counts are used when that plugin is present. When no follow plugin is active, counts fall back to zero and the Activity Management tab is hidden unless list activity is otherwise relevant.
Messaging
Section titled “Messaging”Group messaging on list pages relies on the BuddyPress or BuddyBoss messaging component being active, in addition to the direct message setting being enabled.
BuddyPress activity add-ons
Section titled “BuddyPress activity add-ons”BuddyLists list pages render standard BuddyPress activity, so activity add-ons keep working inside a list feed. BuddyLists explicitly loads the assets for these on its list pages:
- BuddyPress Polls (CSS is enabled on single list pages).
- BuddyPress Reactions.
- BuddyPress Activity Share Pro, including the share popup.
Additional activity add-on compatibility (Maps and Check-ins, Moderation Pro, Status) was included in the 1.2.0 release.
