Getting Started with Woo Audio Preview Pro

Woo Audio Preview Pro adds a customizable audio player to WooCommerce products so shoppers can preview a track before they buy. It is the premium edition of the free Audio Preview for WooCommerce plugin, and it adds unlimited previews per product, player themes, per-track preview length, audio watermarking, a shop and category badge, bulk import, external and CDN playback, and multi-vendor support.

How Pro relates to the free plugin

Pro is an add-on, not a replacement. It extends the free Audio Preview for WooCommerce plugin by subclassing the free player and contributing through the seams the free plugin provides. Both plugins must stay active:

• The free plugin owns the settings page, the product meta box, and the base player.
• Pro adds the premium behaviour on top of that single meta box and player.
• If either WooCommerce or the free plugin is missing, Pro deactivates itself and shows an admin notice with a one-click install link. Pro never deactivates the free plugin.

Requirements

• WordPress 5.6 or higher
• PHP 8.0 or higher (enforced; the plugin will not run on older PHP)
• WooCommerce (required)
• Audio Preview for WooCommerce, the free plugin (required, and it must remain active)
• Tested up to WordPress 6.9

Installation

1. Install and activate WooCommerce.
2. Install and activate Audio Preview for WooCommerce (the free plugin).
3. Upload the Pro plugin to /wp-content/plugins/woo-audio-preview-pro/, or install it from the Plugins screen, then activate it.
4. If WooCommerce or the free plugin is not present, Pro shows a notice with an install button. Install what it asks for, then activate Pro again.
5. After activation you are taken to the settings page under WB Plugins.

Activating your license

Pro is licensed through Easy Digital Downloads on wbcomdesigns.com. Automatic updates require an active license.

1. Go to WB Plugins and open the License tab (in the Account group of the settings navigation).
2. Paste the license key from your wbcomdesigns.com account.
3. Click Activate.

An inactive license shows a reminder notice in wp-admin and turns off automatic updates until it is activated.

Your first preview

1. Go to WB Plugins and confirm Enable Audio Preview is on under General.
2. Edit any WooCommerce product and find the audio preview meta box.
3. Add an audio file (upload from the Media Library or paste an external URL) and give it a name.
4. Optionally set a Preview length in seconds for that track.
5. Update the product and open it on the front end to hear the player.
