Installation

BuddyPress Check-ins lets your community members share a location when they post an activity update. Selecting a place adds an “-at [location]” link to the activity and can embed a Google map below it.

Requirements

• WordPress 5.0 or higher.
• BuddyPress or BuddyBoss Platform, installed and active, with the Activity component enabled.
• A Google Maps API key (see Google Maps API Key).

The plugin stays inactive until BuddyPress (or BuddyBoss) is active. If the Activity component is turned off, an admin notice explains that the plugin needs it. The plugin also cannot run alongside BuddyPress Check-ins Pro; deactivate one before activating the other.

Install the plugin

1. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New.
2. Upload or search for Wbcom Designs - BuddyPress Check-ins.
3. Click Install Now, then Activate.

After activation you are redirected to the settings page.

Open the settings

Go to WB Plugins > Check-ins in the WordPress admin menu.
