Course Forums Metabox
The Course Forums box appears when you edit a LearnDash course. It is scoped to linking and unlinking only — privacy, access mode and the no-access message live on the forum settings screen so a forum keeps one consistent access profile even when several courses point at it.
Where it appears
Section titled “Where it appears”- On installs with the LearnDash Settings tab, the box is a section named Course Forums inside that tab.
- On installs where the Settings tab is not available, the same box appears as a standard Course Forums metabox on the course edit screen.
Both paths render identical markup and save the same way.
What you can do here
Section titled “What you can do here”| Control | What it does |

| Linked forums table | Lists the forums already linked to this course, with their board. |
| Unlink checkbox | Tick a row to remove that link when the course is saved. |
| Link a new forum dropdown | Pick a forum (labelled Board / Forum) to link on save. |
Behaviour
Section titled “Behaviour”- Forums already linked to this course are hidden from the picker. Forums linked to other courses stay selectable, because one forum can gate multiple courses.
- A newly linked forum inherits the access settings already in use on that forum. If the forum has none yet, it starts with Any access mode and Automatic privacy.
- Saving the course reconciles each touched forum: it rebuilds permissions, ensures the usergroup exists, and backfills enrollees.
