BuddyVendor Overview

BuddyVendor connects a WooCommerce multi-vendor marketplace to your BuddyPress or BuddyBoss community. Each vendor gets a Products tab on their member profile, members can favorite products and browse those favorites from their own profile, and vendor and shopper actions can flow into the community activity stream.

What BuddyVendor does

• Vendor products on the profile. Adds a Products tab to a vendor’s BuddyPress/BuddyBoss profile that lists the products they sell, with a View Store button linking back to their marketplace storefront.
• Favorite products. Adds a heart icon on shop and single-product pages so logged-in members can mark products as favorites, plus a Favorite Products tab on every member profile that lists what they saved.
• Community activity. Optionally posts to the activity stream when a vendor publishes a new product, when a product receives a review, and when a member places an order.
• Message a vendor. On Dokan store pages, adds a Message Vendor button that opens a BuddyPress or BuddyBoss private-message compose screen addressed to the vendor.
• Per-member preferences. Each member gets a BuddyVendor Preferences screen under their profile Settings where they can turn their own tabs and activity contributions on or off.

Who it is for

Site owners running a social marketplace where the storefront (Dokan, WCFM, WC Vendors, or WooCommerce Product Vendors) and the community (BuddyPress or BuddyBoss) should feel like one product rather than two separate plugins.

How the pieces fit together

BuddyVendor does not create vendors or products itself. Your marketplace plugin owns vendors, stores, and products; WooCommerce owns the cart, checkout, and reviews; BuddyPress or BuddyBoss owns profiles, activity, and messaging. BuddyVendor is the layer that reads from the marketplace and surfaces it inside the community, and writes community activity when marketplace events happen.
