Before you start

Confirm your site meets the Requirements: BuddyPress or BuddyBoss, WooCommerce, and one supported marketplace plugin, all active. BuddyVendor will deactivate itself if the community plugin or a marketplace is not found.

Install the plugin

  1. In the WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
  2. Choose the BuddyVendor zip file and click Install Now.
  3. Click Activate.

On activation, if the required plugins are present, BuddyVendor redirects you to its settings screen (unless a Reign multi-vendor addon is active, in which case the redirect is skipped).

What activation sets up

When BuddyVendor activates with BuddyPress present, it seeds default options and per-user preferences so the plugin works out of the box:

  • Favorite Products is enabled, with the tab labelled Favorite Products, slug favorite-products, and position 40.
  • Vendor Products is enabled, with the tab labelled Products, slug products, and position 45.
  • Product creation and product review activity are enabled (product creation is left off when BuddyBoss is detected, to avoid duplicate activity with BuddyBoss’s own product activity).
  • Every existing user is given default preferences with their Favorites tab, Products tab, and activity contributions enabled.

Note: the Order Placement Activity option is not seeded on activation, so it starts off until you enable it. See Configure Settings.

Find the settings

After activation, open WB Plugins > BuddyVendor in the admin menu. The screen has tabbed sections: Welcome, Favorite Products, Vendor Products, and Activity Engagement.
