Installation

Before you begin

BuddyPress must be installed and active before this plugin will do anything. On activation, if the Buddypress class is not present the plugin deactivates itself and shows an admin notice explaining that BuddyPress is required.

Install the plugin

1. Download the plugin zip file from your account.
2. In wp-admin, go to Plugins, then Add New, then Upload Plugin, and choose the zip. You can also extract it and upload the buddypress-private-community-pro folder to wp-content/plugins/ over SFTP.
3. Activate the plugin from the Plugins screen.

After activation the plugin redirects you to its settings page automatically.

Where the settings live

The plugin adds itself under the shared WB Plugins menu in wp-admin. The screen is titled Community Pro and opens at:

wp-admin/admin.php?page=buddypress-private-community-pro

A Settings link is also added on the Plugins list row.

Defaults applied on activation

To give you a safe starting point, activation seeds these options if they are empty:

• Visitor Restrictions are turned on, locking the members, activity, profile, and groups components, with the built-in login form shown to visitors.
• Profile Progress enables the progress bar and marks all existing profile field groups and available photo types as counting toward completion.
• Membership Restrictions default to the subscriber role being the selected role.
• Profile Visibility control is enabled, with a default private-profile message.
• Notice Messages are populated with default text for every restriction.
