Notice Messages
The Notice Messages tab holds the text shown to members when a membership restriction
stops an action. Settings are stored in the blpro_general_notices option, and sensible
defaults are seeded on activation.
Each message maps to a specific restriction from the Membership Restrictions tab. When a restriction triggers, the member sees the matching message (as a BuddyPress notice on classic requests, or in an alert dialog on AJAX requests). If you leave a message blank, the plugin falls back to a built-in default string.
Messages you can customize
Section titled “Messages you can customize”Groups:
- Cannot create groups
- Cannot join groups
- Cannot leave a group
- Reached the maximum number of joined groups
- Reached the maximum number of created groups
Friendships:
- Cannot add more friends
- User cannot receive friend requests
- Cannot cancel a friendship
- Reached the friend limit
Messaging:
- Cannot start new conversations
- Cannot reply to messages
- Group (multiple-recipient) messages not allowed
- Can only message friends
- Message threads cannot be deleted
- Reached the messaging limit with users
- Reached the per-account message limit
- Reached the per-year message limit
- Reached the per-month message limit
- Reached the per-day message limit
- Reached the per-hour message limit
- Some group notices accept the group status (public, private, or hidden) and insert it into the sentence, so keep the wording generic enough to read well for any status.
- Keep messages short and action-oriented so members understand what to do next.
