If the activities are merged the it will show like this:
In the below image you can see that on members’ profiles there two subtabs are displayed under the Activity tab.
One is personal and another one is newsfeed.
The personal tab will display the logged-in user’s activities while the newsfeed tab will display all the merged activities like friendship, groups, mention, etc.
In the default state activities will display with in the separate tabs.
