BuddyPress News Feed has various options for an Admin to manage NewsFeed Functionality.
- Go to Dashboard > WB Plugins >BP NewsFeed
This screen will have the following options:
Disable for Activity Specific Tab
Turn off this option to organize and show each activity in its designated tab for a more categorized display.
Default Tab Selection
This option allows you to choose which tab will be displayed first by default on member profile pages.
You can select from the following:
1. Personal: When selected, the “Personal” tab will display by default. This tab shows activity that is specific to the individual member. It includes updates such as the member’s own posts, comments, and personal interactions across the site.
2. Newsfeed: Selecting this will set the “Newsfeed” tab as the default view. The Newsfeed offers a broader perspective by displaying combined activity from the member and their connected interactions. This includes mentions, likes, group activities, and updates from friends.
Enable activity post form at newsfeed
This option allows you to control whether the activity post form is displayed directly on the Newsfeed tab.
Enable Relevant Activity
Tailors activity feeds to display logged-in members-only content associated with:
- Their personal posts
- Connections and members they follow
- Groups they’ve joined
- Forum threads they’ve subscribed to
- Posts where they are tagged
Note: Activity from private groups is visible exclusively to their members.
Save Changes
Click on this button to save all the settings.
