Member guide
This is the day-to-day guide for a community member using their todo list.
Finding your tasks
Section titled “Finding your tasks”Open your own BuddyPress profile and click the Todos tab (the label may differ if your admin renamed it). The tab shows a count of your open tasks. You can also reach List and Add from the toolbar My Account menu.
The tab appears only on your own profile. You cannot see other members’ personal tasks, and they cannot see yours.
Adding a task
Section titled “Adding a task”Open the Add sub-tab and complete:
- Title.
- Description in the editor.
- Category. Choose one, or add a new category inline if your admin enabled it.
- Due date. This may be required depending on site settings.
- Priority: Critical, High, or Normal.
Save to return to your list.
Reading your list
Section titled “Reading your list”Tasks are grouped by due date into Past, Today, Tomorrow, and Future. Within each group, urgent and high-priority tasks appear first, and completed tasks sink to the bottom. Each row shows how long is left, or how overdue a task is.

- Undo: reopens a completed task.
- Edit: change any field.
- Remove: delete the task.

Reminders
Section titled “Reminders”If your admin enabled reminders, you will get a BuddyPress notification and an email when a task is due. You may be able to control the email through your own profile settings.
Group tasks
Section titled “Group tasks”If you are in a group that uses tasks, tasks assigned to you appear in your personal list alongside your own, and you complete them the same way. Group admins can see completion progress for everyone.
