The Settings tab controls whether reactions appear on BuddyPress content, how they interact with the existing Like or Favorite button, whether notifications are sent, and what happens to plugin data on uninstall. Open it at WB Plugins > BP Reactions > Settings.

Toggles reactions for BuddyPress activity stream posts.

  • On - the React button appears below each activity post for logged-in members.
  • Off - no reaction button on activity posts.

Toggles reactions for comments within activity threads. This setting is independent of the activity post setting above.

  • On - a React button appears below each activity comment.
  • Off - no reaction button on comments.

Controls whether the BuddyPress built-in Like or Favorite button is hidden.

  • On - the standard button is replaced by reactions. When a member reacts, the plugin also removes any existing Like or Favorite record so the two systems do not overlap.
  • Off - both the standard button and the reactions interface are shown together.

Controls whether BuddyPress notifications fire when someone reacts to a member’s content.

  • On - the content author receives a BuddyPress notification when a member reacts to their activity post or comment.
  • Off - no notifications are sent for reactions.

Notifications appear in the standard BuddyPress notifications area.

Off by default, so plugin data survives deactivation, reactivation, and even uninstall.

  • On - permanently deletes all reactions, emoji data, settings, and the three plugin database tables when the plugin is uninstalled. This cannot be undone.
  • Off - data is kept after uninstall.

Turn this on only when you are certain you no longer need the reaction data.

The Settings tab also has a Fix Broken Emojis control. If emoji images appear broken - for example after a site migration or if the emoji database got out of sync - click it to re-populate the emoji library. Existing reaction counts and member reaction records are not affected.

Click Save Settings at the bottom of the form. A confirmation message appears briefly.
